Steven Davies

Steven teaches the System Architecture course in the Master of Science in Systems Engineering (MSSE) program at California Polytechnic University at Pomona California. Before that he served as Chief Engineer on the Joint Precision Approach and Landing System (JPALS) development program. JPALS was recognized by National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) as one of the Department of Defense systems engineering top 5 programs. Steven was a Raytheon Engineering Fellow and a Raytheon Certified Architect. He served on a business unit wide architecture review board.

Active in technical instruction within Raytheon, he was the developer and primary instructor for the System of Systems Architecture and Reference Architecture modules of the Raytheon System Engineering Technical Development Program. He also taught Raytheon Enterprise Architecture Process, Principles of Systems Engineering, and Architecture Methods.

He has worked in programmable digital signal processing computer design, real-time software development, and systems engineering. He holds four patents covering computer architectures, two patents covering safety critical computer systems, and four related patents covering a method for satellite signal spoofing detection. He has BS and ME degrees in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on computer architecture and software development.

Teaching and mentoring have played a prominent role in his career, and they reflect his lifelong philosophy of learning and adding value. He advises everyone to never stop learning, always be aware of how your work adds value, and seek out opportunities to help others. He believes we all benefit when we make an effort to help each other.
